The Beginning of the CBD Movement

This story is what got me interested in learning more about #CBD and what was so special.

CBD oil has been around for many years. Only recently has it entered mainstream attention. All of this began with a special little girl who decided to speak out about medical cannabis.

A normal child laughs around 300 times a day. Until the age of five, Charlotte Figi was that normal girl. And then she stopped laughing. Charlotte had lost her ability to communicate due to a rare and severe form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome.

Dravet syndrome affects roughly 1 in 30,000 infants around the world. Most patients begin their lives as normal healthy children until their development quickly starts to regress.

Intense seizures over take a child as young as 3 months old.  It causes them to lose consciousness and convulse for up to a few hours at a time.

After years of rushed trips to the emergency room, Charlotte's parents became desperate. After going through complications, experimental medications, being told they were at the "end of the line", they decided to make a life changing decision.

Not knowing their choice would stir up a social movement, or more importantly,  bring their daughter back to life, they decided to treat her with #cannabidiol (#CBD), on of the primary compounds found in marijuana.

When they first began research for non-psychoactive cannabis in Colorado, they had difficulties. Most breeders of marijuana create plants that are highly psychoactive.

Fortunately for children like Charlotte, there was a family in Colorado that was ahead of their time. The Stanley Brothers were developing a strain that was high in #CBD and low in THC.

That means having little to no psychoactive effect. Reports and preclinical studies suggest high #CBD #cannabis can calm excitability without causing cognitive impairment.

Before this Charlotte was having 300 grand mal seizures a week, one every 15 minutes.

After adding #CBD oil to her daily routine, #CBD kept Charlotte's seizures at bay for an entire week. This was astonishing for the Figi's.

CNN first aired Charlotte's story in 2013. Since then, #CBD has been making headlines all over the world. Families even began relocating to Denver to find medical #cannabis for their sick children.

Since Charlotte's experience, States that once seemed centuries away from changing their #cannabis laws are introducing #pro-CBD legislative initiatives all from this little girl Charlotte Figi and her mother Paige. #Charlottesweb

    yeah Sure, i f anyone wants to stay healthy they he or she have to use very nutritious products. In USA now govt has been allowed CBD For the people, cause now scientists said that these cannabis has THC chemical which protects from Cancer cells.
